Meet Hugh and Claire.
They’ve been married for almost 60 years.
They are east coasters who relocated to Ontario at the beginning of their marriage and started a family of three girls.
Their son in law hired me to document them in their daily life.
He wanted to give his wife the photos for their 28th wedding anniversary.
Documenting Hugh and Claire has been one of my favourite shoots to date.
I hung out with them for a few hours and documented their way of life.
Claire puzzled and brewed tea while Hugh watched the Jays game and told me all about a special cake he loves to bake.
They told me about how they met and what their wedding was like.
They showed me their garden and Claire did some pruning while Hugh sat back and watched.
Hugh listened to his records on the back porch while Claire watered her flowers in the front.
Nothing was orchestrated and forced.
This is exactly how they are and what their world is like after 60 years of marriage.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend an afternoon with Hugh and Claire and to share this gift with their daughters.
