I have been lucky enough to capture a Hotel Ocho Wedding a few times. The best part about this job is that although the venue is the same, the weddings are always different. There has been Justine and Emmett’s intimate Hotel Ocho wedding. And I will never forget Jon and Jenn’s wedding day (they exchanged ring pops!). Stacey and Andrew’s wedding day was no exception. From the first minute that I met them, I knew that we’d get a long. Hint – if you bring wine to our client meeting, we’re off to a great start!
Stacey and Andrew are exactly the types of people I love to work with. They are both so down to earth and relaxed. They’re madly in love and both have a great sense of humour. Check out the photo of Andrew pretending to be a runaway groom! But above all, they value their friends and family so much. They made sure to invite only their nearest and dearest favourite people to be apart of their celebration.
Another quality that I appreciated was the trust they had in me. I have always wanted to use a specific alleyway for wedding portraits. When we had our consult before their Hotel Ocho wedding, I pitched the idea of this alley. Their reply was, ‘if you think it’s great, we trust you.’ It’s that trust in my talent that allows me to really be creative. I love scouting out unique locations in the city that aren’t widely used. Alleyways aren’t often considered for wedding portrait locations but I personally love them! They provide really cool backdrops with different textures and awesome light. Stacey and Andrew were game for doing their portraits there and I feel like it perfectly complimented the setting of their Hotel Ocho Wedding.
