ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Alex and I am a photographer.

I am often asked, ‘how did you get into photography?’ Here is a long story (kind of) short. I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life. Throughout high school, I took the standard photography classes and had a natural talent but didn’t quite know what to do with it. After high school instead of going to university, I worked to save money for travelling. I went to Australia and travelled the east coast. Along the way I documented my trip and when I returned back to Canada, I developed my film and shared the photos with everyone I knew. A lot of people remarked that I should ‘do something with photography’ but I didn’t know what or how. So I continued working at a dog daycare for years and years taking photos as a hobby.

It wasn’t until two of my very good friends asked me if I’d be interested in doing their engagement photos.

This sparked a light bulb and I thought, wedding photography is a thing, maybe I could do that? So I immersed myself into the wedding world. I started a blog, I dressed my sister up in my mum’s wedding dress to create a portfolio so I’d have images to show future clients, I took a wedding photography course and I just began shooting anyone who would let me. In 2010 I started Wild Eyed. I have been around the world documenting people’s happiest moments in life.

From engagement to wedding, maternity, newborn and family, I have become my client’s photographer for life.

Let me be yours.

It truly makes me so unbelievably happy to be able to capture these moments for people and give them memories in the form of beautiful images.
